Sonora Mexican Kitchen & Bar began with Conrado Badilla, whose love for Mexican food was shaped in his hometown of Sonora, Mexico. Inspired by vibrant street flavors, fresh ingredients, and family recipes, Conrado brought that passion to Minneapolis, sharing food rooted in tradition and care. In 2011, he began serving the community at Midtown Global Market, laying the foundation for what Sonora would become.
Today, Sonora is owned by Jesus Castillo and Eli Koski alongside Conrado Badilla. Together, they carry the original vision forward while continuing to grow Sonora into a lively neighborhood restaurant and bar—focused on quality food, thoughtful cocktails, and genuine hospitality.
